But Trudeau has <a href=\"http:\/\/news.nationalpost.com\/news\/canada\/canadian-politics\/trudeau-defends-comment-on-fidel-castros-death-says-point-was-to-mark-the-death-not-ignore-human-rights\">doubled down<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>He certainly was a polarizing figure and there certainly were significant concerns around human rights,\u201d Trudeau told reporters Sunday. \u201cThat\u2019s something that I\u2019m open about and highlighted, but on the passing of his death I expressed a statement that highlighted the deep connection between the people of Canada and the people of Cuba.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>And the clincher: \u00a0Trudeau &#8220;<em>understands that some people who had been affected by the Castro regime would view things differently<\/em>&#8221; than his enlightened view.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>People who have been &#8216;affected&#8217; by the Castro regime? \u00a0Like all those shot, tortured, imprisoned, thought-controlled, brainwashed, subdued, held in coercion, and died trying to flee\u00a0 his corrupt regime through shark infested waters to the safe haven of Miami, Mr. Trudeau? Condescension, thy name is JT, comfy and safe within his enclave, from which he issues forth idiotic banalities.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Contrast Trudeau with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/news\/politics\/onpolitics\/2016\/11\/26\/donald-trump-reacts-fidel-castros-death\/94469240\/\">Trump&#8217;s statement<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>The world marks the passing of a brutal dictator who oppressed his own people for nearly six decades.
